To celebrate the International Youth Day, Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) organized the very first MH Wellness Fair 2025 held at The Campus, Ampang, Malaysia on August 23, 2025. The fair was conducted with the theme Young & Healthy Champions. The fair underscores Malaysia’s southeastern position as a gateway to the ASEAN healthcare region.

The fair aligned with the ITERA CHALLENGE, devoted to athletes and a walk around the lake. Those who achieved goals were awarded with complimentary snacks. However, the KHEDN also put to competition the parts of the flag of Malaysia. The fair was a brilliant kaleidoscope of the Nation’s diversity and was held to celebrate Malaysia’s healthcare tourism preparedness together with The MH Year of Medical Tourism 2026.

A Celebration of Health and Wellness for All Ages

The MH Wellness Fair 2025 provided a unique opportunity for attendees to explore various facets of health and wellness. Key highlights included health insights sessions, where attendees gained valuable knowledge on oral health for youth, heart disease awareness, and myopia control for children. Renowned healthcare professionals like Dr. Tracey Lau Phui Yi, Dr. Abdul Arif Shaparudin, and Dr. Ng Chun Wai shared their expertise with attendees.

Fitness activities, including family dance sessions and immersive workouts, were led by Babel Fit through the “MoveQuest Adventure Park”. Attendees also enjoyed complimentary massages, posture checks, and an array of wellness products from over 20 vendors. Cultural performances like the Anggalang Magunatip bamboo dance from Sabah provided a unique insight into Malaysian heritage. To celebrate the upcoming Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026, the fair featured interactive VR experiences and a meet & greet with the Visit Malaysia 2026 mascots, Wira & Manja. With plans for future nationwide editions, the fair solidifies Malaysia’s position as a leader in medical tourism.

Health Insights: Expert-Led Sessions

One of the core components of the fair was its expert-led health insights sessions, where attendees gained valuable knowledge on various health issues and wellness practices. Dr. Tracey Lau Phui Yi from Kheng Dental Clinic discussed the importance of oral health for children and teens, emphasizing the importance of early dental care. Dr. Abdul Arif Shaparudin, Cardiologist at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), addressed the challenges in combating heart disease despite available knowledge. Dr. Ng Chun Wai from OPTIMAX Eye Specialist Centre shared strategies to prevent the progression of myopia in children, helping parents learn how to manage their children’s eye health. Redzuan Sabar from Treat Me Wellness Center explored recovery techniques using aromatherapy and chakra energy in emotional recovery, providing attendees with alternative mental health strategies.

Engaging Fitness Activitie

The fair also offered a dynamic range of fitness and fun activities to help promote physical well-being. Babel Fit’s “MoveQuest Adventure Park” became a hub for visitors to try out immersive fitness sessions. Families enjoyed dance classes, fitness challenges, and a recovery lounge designed to help participants relax and recover after an energetic workout.

In addition to fitness activities, there were various wellness experiences available, including complimentary massages, posture checks, spa vouchers, and wellness treatments. A wellness marketplace featured over 20 local vendors offering health products, lifestyle goods, and wellness services.

Cultural Performances and Traditional Games

The fair also celebrated Malaysia’s cultural heritage through live performances and traditional games. One of the highlights was the mesmerizing performance of Anggalang Magunatip, a traditional bamboo dance from Sabah, introducing visitors to the rich cultural practices of the local indigenous groups. Visitors also had the opportunity to participate in traditional Malaysian games like Congkak and Batu Seremban, which promote coordination, reflexes, and intergenerational bonding. These cultural elements enriched the experience, making the fair a multi-dimensional event that embraced both modern wellness and traditional values.

Interactive Experiences with Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026

To tie in with the upcoming Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026, the fair included an exciting “meet & greet” session with Wira & Manja, the mascots of Visit Malaysia 2026. Visitors also had the opportunity to engage with interactive virtual reality (VR) experiences, brought by Tourism Malaysia, allowing them to explore Malaysia’s future initiatives and healthcare tourism offerings.

A Platform for Inclusivity and Community Engagement

The MH Wellness Fair placed a strong emphasis on inclusivity, welcoming both locals and expatriates from all walks of life to explore the healthcare and wellness offerings that Malaysia has to offer. This inclusivity was evident in the fair’s activities, which were designed to cater to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Through this event, MHTC also aimed to foster community engagement and empower citizens to lead healthier lives. The fair’s activities demonstrated Malaysia’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare information while offering opportunities for community bonding through both wellness activities and cultural experiences.

Looking Toward 2026: Strengthening Malaysia’s Healthcare Tourism

With the Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 approaching, the country’s healthcare policy MH Wellness Fair 2025 helped promote Malaysia as a global healthcare and wellness destination. Malaysia positioned itself as one of the leaders in the international medical tourism arena and, at the same time, underlined the need for preventive healthcare and a healthy lifestyle among the people. Expanding Malaysia’s healthcare tourism services offered through the Medical Health Tourism Council (MHTC) from fitness and wellness to holistic medical care aims to capture a wider medical tourism market.
