BUT WE SPOKE WITH ONE MAN WHO DIDN’T HAVE EITHER OF THEM, AND HE WAS STILL ABLE TO FLY, BUT HE GAVE HIMSELF MORE TIME. I’M GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. BEHIND ME. YOU CAN SEE THE LINES ARE VERY BUSY HERE. WE TOLD YOU PREVIOUSLY THAT A PASSPORT IS ANOTHER FORM OF IDENTIFICATION THAT CAN BE USED FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ONE, AND THEY FAILED TO GET THEIR REAL ID IN TIME FOR THAT DEADLINE. IF THEY DON’T HAVE ONE, IT WILL SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT HOW QUICKLY YOU CAN MOVE THROUGH SECURITY, BECAUSE YOU WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH EXTRA SCREENING FOR TSA OFFICIALS TO PROPERLY VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY. SO THAT’S ANOTHER REASON OFFICIALS ARE ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO ARRIVE AT LEAST THREE HOURS BEFORE DEPARTURE. RIGHT NOW, ACCORDING TO TRIPLE A, THERE IS A RECORD BREAKING NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ARE TRAVELING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, WITH MILLIONS EXPECTED TO FLY. AND THIS IS THE FIRST HOLIDAY THAT THE REAL ID LAWS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED. YOU SAID YOU DON’T HAVE YOUR REAL ID. NO, NO. NO, I DON’T, I HAVE I HAVE A REAL ID, BUT YOU KNOW, THEY’RE SAYING THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE ONE WITH THE. STAR ON IT. I DON’T HAVE THAT ONE. OKAY. New Orleans International Airport officials urge residents to prepare for a busy Memorial Day travel weekend. This Memorial Day holiday weekend, more than 3 million people are expected to fly.This will be the first major holiday Real ID will be implemented. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) officials offered tips to improve people’s flying experience and reduce stress: Plan out a parking location early.Empty your pockets before security screening.Leave prohibited items at home to avoid delays.Have a valid ID ready for security checks.Remember 3-1-1 rules for liquids: Liquids must be in containers of 3.4 ounces or less, all containers must fit in a one-quart clear plastic bag, and each passenger is allowed one bag.Put phones in a carry-on to speed up the security process.
