Fly to a New World, Set Foot on Every Adventure

Travel Providers That Have Ditched SeaWorld

2 min read

Thanks to the dedicated work of PETA and our supporters who speak out against cruelty to animals, SeaWorld is rapidly losing its supporters.

At the notorious abusement park, orcas and bottlenose dolphins are confined to cramped concrete tanks containing chemically treated water. With little physical, mental, or emotional stimulation, they spend their days swimming in endless circles or floating listlessly. Close confinement and the frustration of a lifetime in captivity often results in fighting and other kinds of injurious behaviour such as gnawing on the sides of tanks.

Animals are not ours to use for entertainment. A sea change is happening. Increasingly, holiday companies want nothing more to do with SeaWorld, and many are going further by banning the promotion of any facility that imprisons cetaceans in the name of entertainment. We’re celebrating the UK travel companies that are helping to protect these living, feeling beings.

Do you notice any names missing from these lists? Yes – TUI and the travel association ABTA. We have been asking ABTA and TUI to join the list of cetacean-friendly companies, but they are yet to take the plunge. Speak out now to encourage them:
