Fly to a New World, Set Foot on Every Adventure

Baby-Friendly Hotels Should be the Norm, Not a Luxury

Baby-Friendly Hotels Should be the Norm, Not a Luxury

The hurdles that come with hopping on a flight with young children these days are already enough to deter many parents from booking a vacation. Add the inherent stress of ensuring kids (and every other member of your family) will actually have fun once you reach your destination, and the overwhelm can feel downright unbearable—especially if you have a baby or toddler.

Despite family-friendly travel options expanding over the years, most young travelers still have needs that your average “kid-friendly” hotel does not meet. Sure, a comfy booth and a great kids’ menu may be enough to keep picky eaters pleased. But babies just starting to dabble in solids? Not so much. From healthy food options to a safe highchair, it goes without saying that babies require additional accommodations while on vacation. And that’s just during mealtime.

When it comes to activities, the majority of coveted kids’ clubs at popular hotels only cater to kids ages 4 and older, leaving littles out of luck. (Not to mention the adults keeping them entertained.) Also, quality sleep and changing products aren’t always guaranteed to be on hand, which can result in caregivers being forced to pack an extra suitcase (or two) full of baby gear. But good news: the bar is being raised for making traveling with young children easier.

Redefining ‘Baby-Friendly’ Acommodations

This month, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita in Mexico debuted the hotel chain’s first-ever vacation package designed exclusively for infants and toddlers aged 0 to 18 months. The Babies for All Seasons (BFAS) program provides premium baby gear, tailored dining options, and even exclusive baby-friendly experiences for families with young children. BFAS complements the resort’s existing family-focused programs, including “Kids for All Seasons” and “The Container” for tweens and teens.

“Family travel is evolving, and we are proud to set the new brand standard for luxury family vacations with the introduction of Babies for All Seasons,” shares John O’Sullivan, the Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. “As a brand trusted by families, we’re committed to creating a space where parents can relax while their little ones, and enjoy a seamless mix of comfort, care, and adventure.”

But if you ask us, being able to travel stress-free with an infant shouldn’t be a luxury. It should simply be the standard for family travel. After all, your baby’s needs aren’t optional, so why should baby-friendly hotel accommodations and amenities be?

The New Baby-Friendly Vacation Perks

From baby purees to in-room Diaper Genies, here’s a look at our favorite new baby-friendly offerings at Resort Punta Mita that we’d love to see everywhere to give parents with young children the best vacation experience possible no matter their budget:

Nutritious baby-friendly foods available 24/7

Housemade baby-friendly purees have been added to the menu at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita’s signature all-day restaurant. Even better? They can all be ordered through room service free of charge to make life easier. The baby puree selection features fresh, locally sourced fruits and veggies, including avocados, apples, bananas, strawberries, carrots, and broccoli.

Baby safety and care essentials

In addition to in-room babyproofing features and standard cribs, BFAS ensures that your baby’s basic needs will be met no matter what part of the resort they explore. Stokke high chairs, baby utensils, and even swim diapers are provided at no extra cost to ensure infants are safe and secure throughout their stay.

Complimentary access to premium baby gear

To offer the maximum amount of comfort and convenience—and keep the number of suitcases you have to travel with to the bare minimum—BFAS offers free access to these premium items for parents with young children:

Programming designed for babies and parents to enjoy together

The resort’s Apuane Spa now offers activities designed for parents and babies, including Baby Yoga Classes led by an experienced instructor trained in guiding little yogis through age-appropriate poses and breathing exercises.

Parents and children 6 months and older can also try Baby and Me Reflexology. This gentle therapy involves applying light pressure to specific points on a baby’s feet, promoting relaxation, better sleep, and overall well-being.
