Napa on Yelp’s list of Top 10 family-friendly destinations

Napa may be known for its wine tasting rooms and high-end restaurants, but the city is also gaining a reputation as a place for families, according to Yelp.
The review website ranked the city of Napa No. 2 on its list of the top 10 family-friendly travel destinations on Tuesday, coming in just behind Fredericksburg, Texas. The list, covering locations across the U.S., used data from searches on Yelp to make the ranking. San Luis Obispo on the Central Coast is the only other California city mentioned.
“Families are increasingly on the lookout for spots that are known to be kid-friendly,” Yelp said in a news release. “In fact, searches on Yelp for ‘good for kids’ surged 88% in 2023 compared to 2021. To make planning your travel itinerary a breeze, we’ve compiled activities and locales with our ‘Good for Kids’ attribute on Yelp. We identified the top family-friendly destinations in 2024, by analyzing Yelp data in cities where ‘family friendly’ searches saw significant increases, and finalized the rankings with the expertise of Yelp Trend Expert Tara Lewis.”
The top 10 list is as follows:
- Fredericksburg, Texas
- Napa, California
- Charlottesville, Virginia
- Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina
- Breckenridge, Colorado
- Burlington, Vermont
- Ithaca, New York
- Virginia Beach, Virginia
- San Luis Obispo, California
- Salem, Oregon
“While Napa may be best known for its premier wineries, the region offers plenty of incredible sites that can be uncorked for the whole family,” the Yelp statement reads. “Shop from local vendors at Oxbow Public Market, and dine at family-friendly restaurants like Boon Fly Café, which will delight Dr. Seuss fans with its Green Eggs and Ham. For a taste of culture, visit the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art, and its peaceful outdoor sculpture walk. Head over to Connolly Ranch for an educational wildlife experience that has everything from baby goats, wild gardens and chicken pens.”
