Visit Ukraine – Michelin Guide names the best gastronomic destinations for travel in 2026

Gastronomic tourism is becoming one of the main travel trends in the world. Find out which countries and regions Michelin Guide has recognized as the best gastronomic destinations for travel in 2026
Travel is increasingly chosen not only for the sake of scenery, museums, or nightlife. For many travelers, local cuisine is the key argument in favor of one destination or another. That is why the annual Michelin Guide recommendations attract special attention from tourists around the world.
As reported by Time Out Worldwide, the Michelin Guide has published a list of the 16 best gastronomic destinations in the world for 2026, with Italy topping the ranking this time. The list includes countries and regions in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America that can satisfy even the most discerning gourmets.
Europe: Italy is once again at the center of the world’s gastronomic map
In Europe, Michelin has singled out three Italian regions. This comes just a few months after Italian gastronomic culture was officially added to UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage, further emphasizing its global significance.
Venice, Italy
Travelers are advised to visit Venice thanks to the active arrival of premium hotel chains and star chefs. The city, known for its classic cuisine and historic restaurants, is receiving a new gastronomic impulse.
Dolomites, Italy
According to Michelin, the region is rapidly developing “an increasingly ambitious Alpine cuisine.” This is especially relevant on the eve of the Winter Olympics, when the region is actively preparing for an increase in tourist traffic.
Amalfi Coast, Italy
Amalfi made the list thanks to the launch of a new service from Belmond, which enhances the gastronomic appeal of the coast, already considered one of the most delicious corners of the Mediterranean.
Travelers planning gastronomic trips around Europe in their own cars should take care of the travel formalities in advance. In particular, an electronic road vignette for traveling on European highways can be quickly obtained online at Visit Ukraine, allowing you to focus on your route and culinary discoveries without unnecessary delays.

Asia: cuisine on the verge of a global breakthrough
In Asia, Michelin paid special attention to the Philippines. According to experts, traditional Filipino cuisine is on the verge of a “global breakthrough,” especially in Manila and Cebu, where local flavors are combined with modern gastronomic approaches.
Also on the list are Jiangsu Province, China, and Cappadocia, Turkey — as a region with an established local cuisine and strong tourism potential.
Middle East: culinary maturation
Saudi Arabia is the only representative of the Middle East in the ranking. Michelin calls the country an example of “culinary coming of age,” where traditional dishes are gradually being reimagined through modern gastronomic formats.
North America: the revival of iconic routes and cities
In North America, Michelin highlighted several destinations: Quebec and Vancouver (Canada), Boston, Philadelphia, Florida, and the southern United States, as well as the legendary Route 66 in the United States.
According to the guide, Route 66 is experiencing a gastronomic revival on the eve of its centenary. Restaurants, barbecue joints, and motels in eight states are actively renovating in preparation for a new wave of tourists. Travelers are promised a real feast for the stomach — with plenty of pies, smoked meat, and chili.
